Here are the main things people look at to decide if art is good or bad:

• Feelings and Connection: Good art usually makes you feel something strong. It might make you laugh, cry, feel calm, or make you think about your own life, like a catchy song on the radio that makes you want to dance. Bad art often feels boring and leaves you feeling nothing at all.
• Effort and Skill: Think of a baker who spent days learning how to make a beautiful, tall birthday cake compared to someone who accidentally burned a single piece of toast. People usually call art "good" when they can see the artist practiced hard and used great skill to create it.
• A Clear Message: When you read a bedtime story, you want it to make sense. Good art usually tells an interesting story or shares a clear idea, even if it is a bit strange at first.
• Originality: If a friend tells you the exact same joke every single day, it stops being funny. We often think art is "good" when it surprises us with a brand-new idea that nobody has tried before.
