ELI5: How does Singapore manage to run so efficiently?

Singapore runs efficiently because it's like a well-organized home where everyone follows the rules and everything has its place.

Imagine your house: If everyone throws their toys everywhere, doesn't clean up, and argues all the time, it's a mess, right? Singapore is the opposite. The government makes sure everyone knows the rules and tries to make things fair for everyone.

Here's how they do it:

• Good Planning: Like planning meals for the week, Singapore plans for the future. They think about what they need in 10, 20, even 50 years! This includes building enough houses, schools, and roads.
• Following the Rules: Imagine if you didn't do your homework or chores. Singapore is strict about rules. Things like littering or breaking the law have consequences. This helps keep things clean and safe.
• Investing in People: Like learning to read and write, Singapore invests in education and training. They want everyone to have the skills to get good jobs and contribute to the country.
• Clean and Green: Think of tidying up your room. Singapore keeps its city clean and plants lots of trees. It's like making sure your home is a nice place to live.
• Using Technology: Like using a washing machine to make chores easier, Singapore uses technology to improve things. They use computers to manage traffic, provide services online, and make things run smoothly.
• No Corruption: Like making sure nobody steals your toys, the government makes sure no one steals money or takes bribes. This means the country's money is used to help everyone, not just a few people.
