ELI5: How do smart glasses work

Smart glasses work by showing tiny pictures or information right in front of your eyes, like a mini-computer screen you can wear.

Imagine you have a regular pair of glasses, but these special glasses can also show you things, kind of like a tiny TV screen is glued to the inside of the lens.

• How do they show the pictures? They use tiny projectors or special screens inside the glasses that shine light onto the lens, and that light creates the image your eye sees. It's like shining a flashlight on a wall to make a picture.

• What kind of things can they show? It depends on the glasses! Some can show you:

• How do the glasses know what to show? They have small computers inside them that connect to your phone or the internet using Bluetooth or WiFi. They also have sensors that can tell where you're looking and what you're doing.
